| <What is it ?> Simplex repeater is used to extend the communication range of two way radios. It works as a repeater by recording received signal and then retransmit it on a single radio channel. It is ideal as a Temporary repeater, Emergency repeater, Communication coverage tester and as a backup of fulltime semiduplex repeater, etc. SRP-1 is a device that converts conventional two-way radio into a Simplex repeater. <What is special on SRP-1 ?> 1. DTMF remote repeater control SRP-1 is "Remote Controllable" by DTMF tones. The repeater can be activated by sending a "Password" + "*" (ex. 1234*) from user radios. When you finish using it, you can disable the repeater by sending "Password" + "#". So it can be used only when you want to use it and the rest of the time |
the channel can be used as a conventional channel. When you forgot to disable the repeater by sending the "Close command" or you got out of the communication range and the command could not be reached to the repeater, it will close by itself using "repeat disable timer". This time is also changeable through the air using DTMF command. (Admin password + command) 2. DTMF remote Radio control When SRP-1 is used with Icom Radios, it can be a Radio remote control adaptor. By sending "Admin Password" + appropriate commands, the radio's operating channel and its output power setting can be remotely controlled. 3. Remote controllable Auxiliary Switch One open collector switch is available for remote control. It can be switch ON/OFF by DTMF command. |
